可以安裝在世新雕刻打磨機、電磨機、雕刻機和氣動雕刻筆上使用。主要應用於陶瓷、玻璃、石材、玉石翡翠瑪瑙等材料的雕刻、鑽孔、打磨等，金剛石磨針使用的時候要加水（否則金剛砂高溫會石墨化，加快了報廢進度），可以提高鋒利度和磨針的壽命。

鑽孔時要注意：玉雕鑽孔跟玉雕切割一樣，都需要用水冷卻，尤其鑽頭是人造金剛石的，要有足夠的水冷卻鑽頭否則人造金剛石遇熱後碳化將損壞鑽頭。鑽孔時鑽頭要慢進峰出，向下施壓時用力要均勻，否則容易造成鑽頭折斷或使玉器裂損，尤其是脆性的玉石或薄片狀玉件。鑽孔或套芯時加工的玉件要固定牢一旦玉件鬆動，鑽孔可能跑偏甚至會崩掉損壞。
